The Daily Gamecock is the editorially independent student newspaper at the University of South Carolina. The print version is published Monday through Friday during the fall and spring semesters and nine times during the summer, with the exception of university holidays and exam periods.
The election issue of The Gamecock was an effort to breakdown each canidate's positions for the 2012 election. The editor-in-chief wanted to use illustrations instead of actual photos of the canidates. The illustration was based on photo cutouts of the canidates hat were selectively desaturated, and imported in to illustrator.
